Introduction

The purpose of this article is to provide a guide to creating an SGML document on emacs. It is not intended to explain how to write an SGML document! It does, however, explain how to use the emacs editor to create that document.

As a beginner to emacs, I've written some of the sections in a simplistic manner. I have explained the processes step-by-step (as I have learned them). Other sections consist of tables, which explain the various functions used for working on emacs documents.
